Exceptions are the 4th of July and Veterans Day, which are observed on the actual day.

Even though some holidays are not recognized with having a day off, ELC is happy to recognize other holidays during the school day in an effort to learn about their history.  ELC is happy to discuss all holidays our families participate in and will even integrate them into our curriculum with state and DCYF approval.  Please talk to our staff about helping to improve our centers with your ideas.

The Early Learning Centers of Rhode Island does not close for every holiday, but we will go to every effort to celebrate those holidays.  As of 2010, the owner has decided that not only will the schools be provided everything they need to improve the children's learning at the school, but holiday parties with snacks, beverages, lights, and decorations will also be provided to each center in order to show ELC's appreciation to our families.  All proceeds will be provided by the owner at no extra charge to the parents.

Field Trips

Planned field trips include:

Roger Williams Zoo

Rhode Island Beaches

The Farm (horse back riding and 4H programs)

Library

Ice Cream shop

Local parks and playgrounds

Local farm orchards (Apple, Strawberry, and Pumpkin picking)

Children's Museum

Train Depot (after school students)

State Capital (after school students)

Field trips are planned, but may have to be altered per requirements of the State/DCYF and availability of the host organizations.

We provide child care Monday through Friday every week except for the days which we are closed as indicated here.

A daily schedule gives children the stability and security they need early on in life. That's why we strive to provide a stable framework that adds structure to our daily lives but also leaves plenty of room for spontaneous and additional activities.

Graduation Ceremonies and Special Events

We also encourage you to attend our "ELC End of School Year Party" to honor our teachers, parents, and graduating students.  Each center will also have their own graduating ceremony and small center party for our students leaving for elementary school (they grow up so fast).  The "End of Year Party" will be organized by our owner and general manager, while the graduation and center parties will be organized by each center's director and head teacher.
